Hiking - Walking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunshine and showers and very windy Max Speed: Distance Covered: 5.25 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Wednesday 20th September – walk ***** – Around Felixstowe – sunny
periods and showers and very windy.
The strong winds continue for the second day running but I decide to give
windsurfing a miss, there was a time I would be heading off to Southend or
Point Clear but my speedsailing days are behind me now and we just not keen
on travelling these days and besides we were having the Granddaughter for
the day, the lovely Maeva:) We had arranged to walk around to pick up Maeva
around 11 but that was in doubt when the rain started but that thankfully
cleared after I had completed my exercises. Then we headed off, its about a
mile to pick up Maeva from her mum Jay, then we decide to walk down to
Felixstowe Prom at The Manor End braving the dark clouds approaching from
the right but we start off in warm sunshine, cant believe I put on a coat,
that was quickly removed. We nipped into Lidl as a light shower arrived
then onto the prom with the sun out once again and with a strong tail wind
we had a fantastic time, Maeva loved the wind in her face:) We had a quick
spin around the pier where the wind was particularly strong then up through
the town and home for dinner. Maeva certainally loves her food and opens
her mouth like a little bird. We then go for a cuppa with Mary an old
friend managing to get home before the rain arrives! What a top day, Maeva
is a star:)
